Every year, we (Young People Against Alzheimer's - YPAA) look forward to this moment and to this announcement, sometimes with knots in our stomachs. Will we reach our goal? Will we be able to make a difference? After an exceptionally successful two years, raising $21,000 in our first year and $35,000 in our second year, we gave ourselves the lofty goal of $45,000 in our third year so that our overall three-year total would be $100,000. We asked ourselves if we could do it. Well, not only have you helped us achieve our goal but you have helped us exceed it. By $20,000. That's right, we've raised SIXTY-FIVE-THOUSAND dollars for the Alzheimer Society of Toronto (AST) and we couldn't be more grateful and humbled by that number or excited at the possibilities of what those funds will do for individuals with Alzheimer's disease and their families. Christie Preston of Preston Fitness and the Beauty and the Bod Blog has been a longtime supporter and friend of Memory Ball. Christie is a stellar personal and group trainer who promotes healthy habits and exercise as a way to live a better life -- and trust us when we say, her enthusiasm is infectious. Not only that, but Christie has a very positive view on working out, she believes in balance. We love her because she won't make us feel badly about having a cupcake or 2, but... she may make us do extra burpees. We hope you love this video as much as we love working out with Christie.

Now in our third year of organizing Memory Ball, we've gotten into the groove of planning: Venue booked? Check! Caterers on board? Check! Tickets sold? Check, check, check! However, there's one area the Friends for a Benefit (FFAB)/ Young People Against Alzheimer's (YPAA) team always gets a teensy bit stressed over - the Memory Ball outfit. Luckily for us, beginning in 2012, we found out about Rent Frock Repeat, a Toronto-based company that actually lets you rent designer frocks for a fraction of the retail price.

The best part? Rent Frock Repeat is donating 10% to Memory Ball from each rental that uses the code MEMORY14.Rent Frock Repeat supports Memory Ball

As you may have heard, Memory Ball 2014 tickets are SOLD OUT - after being on sale for 41 days with 46 days to go until the event. We knew this would be a record breaking year after selling out Early-Bird tickets in 20 hours... but to sell out even before the beginning of March really shows us how much Torontonians care about Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. mb toronto tickets sold out
